I Just Want to be Me

I Just Want to Be Me is a 34-page Picture Book story about Lela facing a new chapter in her life. Her family has moved to a new neighborhood, and she is walking a tree-lined path to her first day at a new school.

Along the way, her anxiety takes over, and she is influenced by the elements surrounding her.

Lela morphs into things she thinks she would rather be, only to realize that being herself is what she should be.

Lila’s story is for parents, teachers, and grandparents to read to boys and girls 5-9 years old, or mature kids to read on their own.

It’s a short story written in poetic prose with pictures on every page…a very positive book that could help children who may have insecurities or ever wondered about their place in the world.
